Soccer is a sport that is more fun to watch with other people. There’s just something about high-fiving a complete stranger after a goal is scored or joining a chorus of boos aimed towards a diving player, that can’t be experienced unless you are surrounded by other fans of the game.

A good idea to try is going out to watch the game. Almost any bar or restaurant with cable TV will have a package of sports or soccer channels. An added bonus is that you can often find food or drink specials to enjoy while the game is being played. If possible, try to find a sports bar or a “soccer bar” that is known for catering to soccer fans. Although soccer bars will be more crowded than other locations, they will also have a more exciting atmosphere because nearly everyone there will be interested in the game.

For a more family-friendly alternative, consider hosting your own soccer match viewing party at home. Have people bring over snacks and beverages, and let the kids run out and play during halftime. You won’t have to worry about obnoxious strangers ruining the experience of watching the game, and you’ll always have one of the best seats in the house!
